STEP 1 OF 3

1Hypothesis.

In December 2023 I was in the top 2% on Binance without leverage. Five years of good trades. All of it got overshadowed by one bot I made, Songbird. As a human I cannot be on the chart 24/7, so I built something that is at least close to me.

You need a strategy you think works. ICT, Fibonacci, orderflow, EMAs, whatever you understand the best. Either grab an open source indicator on TradingView, or make your own on Claude or ChatGPT. There's a catch. Claude already knows what an FVG is. It does not know which FVG is good. You have to explain that mechanically. I put a condition that the IFVG must form in under 15 bars after a liquidity sweep. That's the level of detail.

2Data.

Can you play football without a ground? No. You need candles to test your strategy on. Binance gives you good crypto data for free, whatever coin. Songbird and Maliketh both pull straight from it. CME products need Databento, which is not free, but $100 to $150 gets you a full history of an index like NQ.

Tell Claude you want to fetch BTCUSDT from Binance and it gives you a python file. Run it and walk away. Five years of 1m candles takes two hours at most, one time only. It took me 15 hours for 800 coins. If you think you can do this by hand on 1m candles across five years without losing your sanity, let me know where to bet against you.

STEP 3 OF 3

3Backtest.

This is the most important and the most difficult part before you put money in. Feed your indicators to a fresh chat (the old one is probably contaminated and hallucinating, yes that happens) and tell it to build a python backtester that gives you a CSV and a summary every run. Maliketh takes 1:1 trades. 1500+ trades, five years, 90% win rate, 0.7% stop and 0.7% target. Why 0.7%? Because that's what worked.

You cannot say "good FVG, strong sweep". Define it mathematically. If your first run shows 40 to 50%, don't worry. That's gold ore before refining. Under 40% on 1:1, pack it up, the strategy is shit. Above it, refine. And then Claude will start talking about "overfitting"…
